A T.E.A.M. Approach to Song Study

By Lisa Campbell Albert & Bill Lynch

Forward by Taylor Louderman

Just like sports teammates rely on each other to successfully achieve the goal of winning, so does a song rely on it T.E.A.M-mates to achieve the winning goal.

What is winning in song study?

I, and my colleague Bill Lynch, define winning as truthfully pursuing an objective in a moment-to-moment way throughout the song.  This includes the moment before the music begins and extends beyond when the music ends.

This book introduces a vocabulary and a process that guides singers to discover their personal reason for why they are singing a specific song.
